F & M Apparel, which first opened it’s doors on March 7th, to hold Grand Opening Friday and Saturday. The business was purchased in partnership by Mr. Higgins and Mr. Ziebarth, both teachers at the Fulda High School. Rrecently, however, Mr. Higgins took a position with the Worthington School District and sold his shares of the business to Mr. Ziebarth.
Mrs. Fred Reker, 79, passed away Monday after suffering a stroke several weeks earlier.
Red Cross Swimming Lessons will begin on Monday at Fulda’s lake beach with 130 youth attending .
George Lober received a Merit Award by the State of Minnesota, Department of Highways, in recognition of the high quality construction performed on Highway 90.
Band concerts will be held each Wednesday evening through the summer months by the Fulda High School Band.
Scout Leaders Marvin Mischke and Mark Fisher (along with 2 additional adult leaders) will accompany 50 area scouts on a Navy Cruise to Hawaii where they will tour the Navy Base and battle ships.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller are the parents of a son, Richard, born May 26th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Doud.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller are the parents of a son born June 18th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Abe Gertjejansen and Mrs. Gerda Miller.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Kleve are the parents of a daughter, Heidi, born June 15. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jansma and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kleve.
Miss Darlene Dierks and Mr. Thomas Kretzschmar were united in marriage on June 12th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda.
There will be NO movies playing at the Fulda Theatre from June 19th to July 8th.

Chris Ramert is the winner of the Area Conservation Poster contest winner for Area V. He was presented a plaque from Arland Moger, District Supervisor and Betty Wilcoxon, District Clerk.
The flag being flown in front of the Murray County courthouse this week is in honor of Robert C. Holinka.
The Fulda Scout Troop 123 joined the Murray County Pheasants Forever chapter to plant 1,000 willow plants on the Haberman Wildlife Area north of Lime Creek.
Murray County is holding a Household Hazardous Waste collection on Saturday.
Pals Cafe was crowded with people who wanted to know more about the possibility of having a Credit Union in Fulda.

David Horn was been authorized by the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod for Ordination into the Holy Ministry of the Church. He has accepted a call to St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hannover, North Dakota.
Funeral services were held on June 3rd for Paul M. Heinrichs who passed away at the age of 82 years old.

City of Fulda is plagued with sanitary sewer problems due to the 6 inches of rain which fell in the area. Televising the sewer lines in a nine block area on the west side was discussed at the Fulda City Council meeting. Another option would be to dig at each residence or retiling around the ball diamond.
Nancy Overman to be honored as Grand Marshal for Fulda’s 10th annual Wood Duck Festival parade with the theme of “Olympic Dreams”.
Kelly Engelkes and Brian Kirlin announce their engagement. The couple plan an August 24th.
