Polio Clinic to be held in Slayton on January 15th and 16th at the auditorium. All persons under the age of 40 are urged to attend and receive an immunization.
C. M. Smith is named as new county commissioner. Mr. Smith fills the vacancy caused by the death of Louis Kirchner.
The Minnesota Department of Conservation will beholding a sale of confiscated furs on January 20th.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Brinkman are the parents of a boy born January 11th.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Ramerth announce the engagement of their daughter, Verdelle to Ted Seidel. No definite wedding date has been set.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Horkey announce the engagement of their daughter, Kay, to Francis Knott. No definite wedding date has been set.
The Mansch Brothers Furniture Store in Slayton was completely destroyed by fire early Saturday evening. Fire fighters from Slayton and Fulda battled the blaze well into Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Game wardens were busy during the month of November making 474 arrests for violations of the game and fish laws. Loaded or uncased firearms being transported in motor vehicles resulted in 226 arrests. Fines levied amounted to $16,615.
Frank Kirchner passed away on January 11th at the age of 63 years old in Minneapolis.
Mrs. Katherine Pfingsten passed away on January 11th at the age of 86 years old.
Parker Dragoo, former Fulda resident, passed away on December 10th in California.

The mighty Warriors Wrestlers and their coach, Brad Thompson, spent the week preparing on the mats for their match up with Adrian…a team they haven’t beat in 11 years.
Shirley Sturms’ eighth grade English class took on the assignment of “Great Mail Race” with gusto. Students wrote letters to places all over the world. The race was to see who would get return mail first.
Mindy Gielen, a teacher at the Fulda High School, helped plan the “Wake Up to Science” summer program at SSU.
Fulda Star City banquet to be held on January 11th.
