Thurs., October 19, 1967

The Fulda Reading Club took thirty nine ladies from Fulda and the surrounding community to the Twin Cities where they toured the Betty Crocker Kitchen, Bauchmanns Florists, and the Minnesota Institute of Art.

Vacancies on the Fulda Village Council will be open for application from October 22 to November 5th. Positions open are Mayor, Justice of the Peace, Treasurer, Constable and Councilman. Applications may be filed with Village Clerk Harold Haar.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ommen are the parents of a daughter, Ann Marie born October 16. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ommen and Mrs. Dick Vosberg.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Gehl are the parents of a son, Russell, born October 9th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ruesch and Mr. and Mrs. William H. Gehl.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave McDonald are the parents of a daughter, born October 13th. Grandparents are Mrs. George Bremer and Mrs. Mary McDonald.

Leland R. Landers passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, October 12th at the age of 64 years old.

Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pearson will be honored at an Open House in celebration of their Silver Wedding Anniversary on October 22nd.

Cliff Mansmith to head Maple Lawn Membership Committee. Since the start very few members have been added and some have passed away. Maple Lawn has been very successful being 95% full at all times and has a waiting list.

Twins Fever hits Fulda… as the Minnesota Twins prepare for post-season play.

The City of Fulda hires an architect to draw up plans for a new building.

Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn this month are Mabel Buss, Dale Snyder, Anna Poss, Irene Bruns and Harvey Talcott.

Bill and Lorrae Lindquist are the proud parents of a boy Eric, born September 19th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Ed Balt and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lindquist.

Mark and Janet Isder proudly announce the birth of another son, John, born October 11. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Isder.

Vernon Behr passed away on September 30th while on his morning walk at the age of 67 years old.

Harvest is in full swing with the intent to complete the harvest before the impending rains begin. “We are seeing excellent quality,” states Jim Bose, Lime Creek Ag Services, Inc.

The city of Dundee is considering an on-sale liquor license for any business within the city limits which is able to seat 32 or more customers at one time.

Students from St. Paul’s Lutheran School enjoyed two days of camping at Shetek Bible Camp this past week.

Michael Pagel, agricultural education instructor and FA advisor for the Fulda High School, has been nominated to receive an Honorary American FFA Degree.

After weeks of summer-like conditions, it doesn’t seem right to have winter appear literally over night. Monday afternoon the area received what is termed a ‘snow squall’. We hope it is not a sign of what is to come this winter.

Citizens of Tomorrow feature Charles and Christina Stainer, Luke and Karisa Moen, and Sarah and Caitlin Strenge.

Patricia and Thomas Lawson are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Megan, born on October 10, 1997. Grandparents include Ronald and Florence Davidson and Richard and Ethel Lawson.

Sara Dierksen and Raymond Randall were married August 2nd at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church.

Rosanne Duerr and Christopher Tesch were united in marriage on May 31st at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda.

Bob and Helen Horn will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday October 19th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Ann Vogt passed away on September 29th at her home at the age of 74 years old.
