Don Welling of Fulda Electric with the help of Charlie Gerber is finishing the electrical hook ups on the Farmers Co-op Commission Co. new corn processing plant.

Chosen to reign as King and Queen over Fulda High School’s 1973 Homecoming Festivities were Sam Hermann and Peggy Haberman. Former Queens attending the coronation include Marge Gertjejansen Miller (1962), Jeannie Zins Lammers (1959), Mary Lou Schindler Brake (1950), Betty Freetly Krogman (1948), Diane Mathias Schaffer (1964), Gail Kolander (1971), and Rosemary Vorthrms (1972).

The Fulda Lion’s Club will again sponsor a free Visual and Hearing Screening for four year olds born between September 1st and August 31st on October 9, 1973.

Jaycees kick off Operation Red Ball with the help of the Fulda Fire Department. The objective of Operation Red Ball is to help save children’s lives in case of a fire.

St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church parish house will be sold – to be moved – on bids. Building must be moved or tore down by March 1st, 1974.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Czepa Jr. are the proud parents of a new baby boy born September 26th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pollak and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Czepa Sr.

Gayle Heinrichs and H. R. Cramer, Jr. were united in marriage at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church with Father Donald Olson officiating on September 22nd.

John Isder passed away on September 26th at the age of 84 years and 11 months.

Timothy Merz, age 2, passed away at the Children’s Hospital, Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 20th. Parents were Michael and Josephine (Zins) Merz.

Being selected as Homecoming Royalty at the Fulda High School were Queen Teresa Kass and King Kevin Nordsiden.

Deborah Jo Kirsch and Joseph Berg were united in marriage on September 3rd at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic church in Mankato. The couple plans to make their home in Mankato.

Lois Heintz and Dr. James Creech were married on September 10th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. The couple will make their home in Sioux City, Iowa.

Ricki and Lori Ommen are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Cody, born September 30th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Merl Johnson and Eileen Ommen.

Don and Vicki Pals are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth, born October 1st. Grandparents are Vern and Nellie Pals and Edward and RoseMary Schweigert.

Celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, October 16th with an open house are Reinhart and Lois Bruns.

Attending the fire drill held at Seven Mile Lake last Wednesday night were Fulda, Chandler, Lake Wilson, Slayton, and Worthington.

The Fulda Fire Department responded to a call on Thursday, October 1st at the Bill Bolton residents. A house on the property (still on blocks) was in flames. The was contained to one building.

City clean up day will be October 20th beginning at 7:30 a.m.

Box Tops for Education to raise money to help buy Phy Ed equipment.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Benjamin and Keith Gehl; Tiffany and Melissa Gehl; and Kari and Danielle Ross.

Jeff and Tammy Carlson are proud to announce the arrival of Joshua born September 24th. Grandparents are Don and Janis Heintz.

Julie Hayes and Michael Olsem were united in marriage on April 25th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

Dora Eisfeld passed away on September 30th at the age of 91 years old.

Minnie Beech passed away on September 29th at the age of 88 years old.

Raeburn Radick passed away at the age of 89 years old on October 3, 1998.

Leonard Biren passed away unexpectedly at the age of 76 on October 2, 1998.
