Father Paul Hodapp left on a trip to attend the Hundredth Anniversary of the founding of the North American College in Rome where he studied from 1922 to 1928.
The Ptacek people of the AMF of St. Paul have been busy this past week getting things in readiness for the opening of the four newly installed bowling lanes, complete with automatic pin setters, at Lanoue’s Recreation. Congratulations to LeRoy and Donna on their new venture.
Sheila Gerhard and Phil Wand were crowned Homeocming Queen and King prior to the parade on Friday. Little Gayleen Barnes and Daniel Beam were mock Queen and King.
Thursday and Friday of this week, Mr. Leonard Knorr, new owner of the Coast-to-Coast Store in Fulda is having a “Get Acquainted Sale.” Stop in and check out the bargains.
Del Koopman got a one hundred fifty pound deer Tuesday morning at Talcott with bow and arrow, making it the first one bagged in the Fulda area this year.
Rites were held on Friday for Fred W. Helweg, 88, who passed away on September 29th.
Larry Krueger, 20, was killed instantly in a two car crash on a bridge on Friday morning in an Iowa accident.
A daughter was born on September 30th to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thedans of Avoca.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Engelkes of Lime Creek are the parents of a daughter born on September 29th in Worthington.
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Suggs are parents of a daughter, born September 28th.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Magnus are the parents of a daughter, Sheila born September 28th.

Vincent John Cosgriff passed away on October 6th at the age of 71 years old.
Jake Flemmer passed away on October 2nd at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 23 days.
A fire in a cornfield southwest of Fulda was put out by the Fulda Fire Department on Monday Afternoon. Fields are dry and with the added hazard of a gusty wind, corn field fires are a concern for area farmers.
Fire Prevention Week celebrated October 8-14.

Fires plague surrounding area with hazardous dry weather conditions. Fulda Firemen receive calls to Vernon Uit De Flesch combine smoldering, a rubbish fire at Delia Thompsons, as well as others in the Wilmont and Brewster areas.
Fulda firefighters spent time showing their equipment to local school children.
Fulda Charity Drive off to an enthusiastic start.
Ronald McDonald will be coming to the Fulda Elementary School on October 15th to visit students.

It’s a tail of a story – The three amigos went fishing and had successes in mid September. They were on the Corner Lake outside of Vermillion Bay, Canada. Charlie Hopkins, caught a 33 1/2” Muskie, Bob Riebschlager a 26” Walleye and Allen Bakke a 24” Walleye.
