A corn picking bee, which was organized by the Brotherhood of the Immanuel American Lutheran Church of Pfingsten, found over fifty neighbors and friends to gather in the corn crop of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wiener on Saturday. Mr. Wiener, who recently returned from a stay in the hospital, could not assist with the harvest. Mrs. Wiener, a week ago, was taken to the hospital with a slipped disc where she is confined to bed. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wiener were very grateful.
Mrs. George Lober, Sr. was honored at an 84th birthday party on Saturday evening by family and friends.
The “Fulda 20¢ Wash” will be opening in a few weeks. The Frigidaire coin operated laundry will be run by Mr. and Mrs. Erick Elting.
The Village of Fulda is being assured of an ample water supply with the completion of the newest well located between Rex Wordelman and the Zins homes. The well, which is 166 feet deep has a production of 125 gallons per minute. With so many towns in the area being plagued by a shortage of water, Fulda residents are fortunate in having a new well.
There will be no opposition in the Village election here on December 8th. George Highum, Village Clerk, reported the following: A. H. Wordelman filed for Mayor; Wm. McGlin filed for re-election as trustee; A. H. Bodelson for Treasurer and E. W. Beckman for Justice of the Peach. There were no filings for Constable.

While stringing the Christmas lights on the top of the water tower, Randy Larson took the opportunity to snap a photo looking down at the City of Fulda. It is a bird’s eye view for sure!
Sharon Carroll shares her experiences of teaching via the Telemedia System, “Communication is extremely important between the teacher and the administration in the participating schools.” Mrs. Carroll is in her third year of using the Telemedia system.
Fulda FFA students describe trip to Kansas City to Fulda School Board members.
Fulda Women of Today will again sponsor a Christmas Lighting Contest open to all residents. A new winner will be chosen each Friday until December 22nd.
Citizens of Tomorrow include Richard and Daniel Evans, Amy and Thomas Sandhurst, and Paul and Christine Clausen.
Fulda High School Senior Profiles include Mathew Meier, Chad Magnussen, and Richard Gunderman.
Mary Bakke and Paul Jans were united in marriage on August 12th at the Evangelical Convenient Church of Alexandria.
Walter and Dorothy Ohlenkamp will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on December 3rd.
Ernest (Mike) Raatz passed away on November 26th at the age of 87 years old.
Harvey Talcott, Sr. passed away on November 24th at the age of 92 years old.
Emma Hostetler passed away at the age of 93 on November 22nd.
FCCLA will host the 4th Annual Breakfast With Santa on December 2nd at the high school cafeteria.
Sherwin Linton will perform his Christmas Show at the Corral Supper Club on December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Ted Winter, farmer from Fulda, has the opportunity to join many international diplomats in Seattle who will begin trade talks of the next millennium. Mr. Winter will be able to interact with U. S. officials and delegates from across the world to ensure agriculture and rural business are not sold out in the upcoming agenda.
Duane Jans is utilizing his long time skill of woodworking to fill his days of retirement.
FFA Chapter Degree Award winners include Cody Bell, Eric Paulzine, Dustin Runkle, Matt Kremer, Corey Reith, Jeremy Ebbers, Matt Witzel, Jon Fenske, Brent Winter, Mark Enninga, and Kelli Klein.
Penny Roll amounts exceed expectations during the FLA/FCCLA Chapter Penny War. In just four hours the high school students contributed 76,063 pennies for the Murray County Christmas Project – Toys for Tots. The 8th graders won the class competition with a total of 23,708.
John and Lisa Bjerke welcomes Malachi into the family on November 12th. Grandparents are Jodie Vortherms, Tim Lauritsen and Philip and Lucy Bjerke.
