Shari Landers, Miss Sioux Empire Rodeo Queen will be a contestant in the finals of the National ‘Miss Rodeo America’ contest in Las Vegas this month.

American Education Week to be held Nov. 9-13 with the slogan “Praise and Appraise Your Schools”.

Mr. and Mrs. William Schellenberg will celebrate their 50th wedding Anniversary with an open house on November 8th.

Rain during most of last week brought a temporary halt to the harvest of corn and soybeans in this vicinity. Rain started early in the week and continued through Friday night. This week farmers are again able to return to the corn fields, however the soybeans have become to moisture logged to harvest at this time.

Rites held for Edward Muller in Reading Friday. Mr. Muller’s death occurred only a few ours after he had been admitted to McKennon Hospital suffering with acute pneumonia.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Lovell are happy over the arrival of a baby boy, born October 29th in Slayton.

The Friesen Accordion Band played at Wilmont on Sunday evening at the Methodist Episcopal Church. Band members include Danny and Judy Busch and Janis and Carol Goins.

Pastor Mark Yackel-Juleen and his family are the newest residents to Dundee. Pastor Mark is serving First Lutheran in Dundee and Grace Lutheran in Worthington.

The Fulda Raider football team received the 3C runner-up trophy Friday evening after being defeated by Waterville.

Brenda Schipper and Joe Pillsbury announce their engagement. An April wedding is planned.

Chris Clausen is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan Staples are the parents of twins, Kory and Kelsey, born November 5th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Norman Scharzenbach and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Staples.

A tree, donated by RoseMary and Ed Schweigert was planted on the Depot grounds. The planting was paid for by the Reading Club.

Erv Rotenberry, former Fulda teacher, has been named Band Music Educator of the Year.

DNR purchases land for hunting purposes – 320 acres from the Edgar Dalin Estate located in Cottonwood County.

The junior class from the Fulda High School toured the EROS Data Center in Sioux Falls as part of their World Culture and Geography class.

Edward Schweigert recently came into possession of two books, both dealing with Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany. They are available to be checked out at the Fulda Memorial Library.

Margie Anderson received the Outstanding Civil Service Award for her work with the 4-H.

Superintendent Doug Froke, along with the school board, would like to achieve the implementation of a Mission Statement for the Fulda Schools.

Rich and Pat Lanners will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with a card shower.

Matthew Fenske and Jodie Joens announce their engagement. A December wedding is planned.

Eugene Baumgard passed away at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 4 days, on November 2nd.

Mildred Pallesen to observe her 100th birthday on November 29th.

Devin and Julie Janssen are proud to announce the arrival of their little miracles, Samuel and Elizabeth, born November 8th. Grandparents are Les and Delores Janssen and Norm and Evelyn Rasmussen.

David and Judy Green announce the birth of a son, Daniel born November 3rd. Grandparents are Jerome and LaVerna Olsem and Loren and Darlene Green.
