Thursday, Nov. 10, 1966

Dr. John Rauenhorst will complete his training at Ramsey County Hospital in St. Paul in June. We hope he keeps Fulda in mind for his future practice.

Donkey Basketball, the worlds craziest sport, will come to the Fulda grade school on November 14th.

Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Ramert celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.

Judith Fuchs is engaged to Timothy Andrews. A December wedding is planned.

Early Thursday afternoon the Fulda Fire Department was called to the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. James Fiedler where they found the hog house burning with flames spreading to other nearby buildings.

   Showing at the Fulda Theatre  this week is “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken” staring Don Knotts and Joan Staley.

William Touhey passed away on Saturday in Mankato.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Karowski are the parents of a daughter born Friday. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. John Karowski and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jarmer.

Election results – Clair Peterson was defeated by Duane Bondhus for Murray County Auditor; Wendell Erickson defeated Hilary Barry for State Representative for Murray and Rock Counties; and Orville Muck won over Bill Neumann for Murray County Sheriff.

Thursday, November 6, 1986

Mary Magnus wins mayor seat, Syd Halverson and Emory Beckman win seats on the council and Ted Winter won the State Representative seat for out area.

Margo Shea is on the waiting list for a new kidney transplant.

Fulda Women of Today assist Lamberton in forming a Pals chapter.

Fulda Fire Department responded to two calls this week; a combine on the Darrell Albersman farm on Wednesday and a grain dust fire in the corn dryer at the Fulda Independent Coop on Saturday. Neither fire caused any injuries.

Pals Cafe waitresses, Skip Chepa and Adeline Baumgartner, showed up to work as Pocahontas and Raggedy Ann in honor of Halloween.

The City of Fulda plans to establish a Community Energy Council.

Randy Larson asked the City Council for 25¢ for on-call time hours for Ambulance members and $500 once a year pay for the Ambulance Director position.  The motion was made and passed.

Veterans Day will be observed on November 11th in Fulda with a parade and program.

Nancy Kelly and Randy Johnson exchanged vows on July 19th at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville, Iowa where the couple plans to make their home.

Debra Kass and Robert Arends are the parents of a son, Brandy born October 23rd.

Fulda Women of Today hold Halloween party for local ghosts and goblins.

Marcella (Dolly) Haugh passed away with the funeral being held on November 1st.

Marvin Ackman passed away on October 11, 1986 at the age of 62 years old.

Walter Roti passed away on October 28, 1986 at the age of 81.

Ida L. Wilkison passed away on October 28, 1986 at the age of 74 years old.

The Veteran’s Monument in front of the Fulda City Hall will be dedicated on November 11, 1996 prior to the program held at the grade school.

Gordon “Gordy” Pietrusaewski, Fire Safety Coordinator from Wyoming, MN, presented Fulda Fire Chief Harris Swan with an award for his years of participation in the Annual Fire Safety and Prevention Program.

The Fulda City Council voted unanimously to purchase a new ambulance at a cost of $85,640.

A small twister went through the Fulda area on Tuesday causing damage at the Lyle and DeeDee Bestge farm as well as taking the roof off the apartment above the Fulda Cafe.

Fire Prevention Poster winners include 1st place Tom Sandhurst, 2nd place Jeff Horne and 3rd place Eric Zins.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Mya, Francis, Sam, Paul and Camren Olsem; Mari, Mic, and Myah Holinka; and Tabitha Johlfs, Brock Johlfs,  Tiffany and Brooke Zins.

Laura Preston passed away on October 30, 1996.

Frances A. Ella passed away on November 3, 1996 at the age of 93 years old.

Eldon Reisdorfer passed away at the age of 64 on November 2, 1996.

Russ and Kathy Widman are the parents of a boy, Ryan born November 1st. Grandparents include Deroy and Karen Johnson and Helen Widman.

David Peterson and Wendy Hames are proud to announce the birth of their son, Dalton, born October 20th. Grandparents are Larry and Laura Johnson and Cleo and Shirley Hames.

Gerald and Gabriella Crowley announce the ‘spooktacular’ arrival of their first born, Anthony, on October 31st. Grandparents include Leo and Dolores Crowley and Lorenzo and Renee Orrego.

Kurt and Kathy Soderholm are the parents of a girl, Morgan, born October 15th. Grandparents include Clair and Bonnie Ackerman and Leland and Opel Soderholm.

The Fulda High School government class recently held an election to determine the outcome of the presidential and senatorial races in the state.
