Eddie Wieskus and Rupert Hofmann have spent years getting to know students and parents in the area – from behind the wheel of their busses. At one time there were 14 routes now there are only 7. Wieskus and Hofmann have owned and operated the bus service for the Fulda School District for a collective 58 years.

Ella Hagen Schlueter is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.

The 1st annual Slayton Junior High Music Festival will be held February 24th at 2:00 pm.

Fulda boys basketball team wins conference in overtime. When two teams with identical records of 12-2 meet on the hardcourt it should be a fantastic game – and that it was.  On Monday night a packed house saw the Raiders take a 54-51 overtime victory over Sioux Valley-Round-Lake-Brewster. The win assures Fulda at least a tie for the Conference Championship.

William Meyers passed away on January 13, 1988 at the age of 88 years old.

Members of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church to perform “Here Comes the Brides” – a clever, clean, fast moving farce of a story – on March 14 & 15.

FFA empowers students to create a future for themselves, their communities and their nation.

Gene’s Plumbing and Heating was awarded the bid by the Fulda School Board for the Elementary Roof Drain Renovation Project.

Steve Haugen, CPA reviewed the preliminary audit for 1997 with the Fulda City Council. Also discussed at the meeting was the possibility of deeding the elevator property to the City of Fulda.

Fulda High School Senior Profiles include Cristofer Crowley and Katie Bolton.

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) held at the Fulda Elementary School. Essays were read by Henry Dittman, Emily Baumann, Phillip Uttech, Laura Gunderman, Cassy Stewart, Eric Zins, Lindsey Engen, Ashley Fisher, Alyson Buschena and Jaimie Bell.

Junior Olympic Volleyball returns to Murray County with teams in Fulda and Slayton.

Adelbert Wildfeuer and Jenny Perry are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Autumn born February 17, 1998. Grandparents are Todd and Tami Sampson and Roger and Melva Wildfeuer.
