Thursday, Feb. 26, 1959

Elementary students will present “Hansel and Gretel” on Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Palleson drove to Howard, SD on Friday were they attend the funeral of his uncle, Oliver Johnson.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kirchner were honored on their 45th wedding anniversary friends and relatives.

  The Fulda Fire Department was called to the Walter Dobereiner farm north of Wirock on Wednesday evening where the bar was completely destroyed by fire along with two tractors and a large quantity of hay.

The Fulda Raiders took the first game of the tournament defeating Worthington 65-56.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Saxhaug are the parents of a daughter born Monday. She will be named Heidi Kay.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hintermeister are the parents of a son, Von Elliott, born February 18.

Mr. and Mrs. Arvin Hadler are the parents of a daughter born Monday. Marie Kahle is the grandmother.

Mr. and Mrs. Delvan Gaul have adopted a month-old baby girl and have named her Ann Elizabeth. Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Illg are the grandparents.

Fulda High School Seniors have been granted Noon Hour Privileges. Seniors will be allowed a 20-minute noon hour to use as they wish providing they follow several guidelines. The proposal was brought before the board by senior Kristie Probst on behalf of her classmates.

Diane Oolman receives the Maverick Achievement Award.

Jenny Koopman earns her Black Belt in Karate.

Louisa Nelson passed away February 18th at the age of 90 years old.

Alice Rymba passed away February 13th.

Tim and Tami Kremer are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Adam, born February 22nd. Grandparents are Delly and Judy Koopman and Ray and Donna Kremer.

Mike and Kris Crowley announce the arrival of their son, David on February 25th.  Grandparents are Leo and Dolores Crowley and Mrs. Doris Lerohl.

Matt and Ann Holinka are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Andrew on February 7th. Grandparents are Chuck and Trudy Holinka and Ed and Jeanette Wieskus.

Rev. Gary Clayton will preach his farewell sermon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on March 12th. Rev. Clayton will be serving in Concordia Missouri.

Linda Jacobson recently traveled to the foreign country of Russia as part of a Land-O-Lakes program to assist farmers in learning about credit cooperatives.

Students at the Fulda Elementary go on a Reading Safari during ‘Ape over Reading’ month.

The City of Fulda purchased a new Hornet warning siren was purchased for $7,000.

St. Gabriel’s to present “The Rubber Room” – a hilarious comedy.

Emily Kramer was named Murray County Pork Ambassador.

The Fulda Free Press and it’s owner, Jerry Johnson, received the Shining Star Award from Renea Dorpinghaus, representing Murray County Youth and Family Task Force, for their coverage of youth activities in the area.

Scott Mundt of KELO-TV out of Sioux Falls, SD, visited with Fulda fourth grade students last week explaining weather terms, tornadoes and Doppler Radar.

William Beckman passed away on February 25th at the age of 91 years old.

Malinda (Albert) Beckman passed away February 28th at the age of 80 years old.

Kent Crowley captures Class AA 189 lb. title at the State Wrestling Tournament. Congratulations Kent on a great year.
