Thursday, April 20, 1967

The sixth grade students will take their class trip to the Twin Cities on April 26th to visit the State Capitol, Historical Society, Science Museum and the Minneapolis Airport. An addition to this year’s trip is an airplane ride…Mr. Romness’s class is flying in the morning from Worthington Airport to the Minneapolis Airport and Mr. Moret’s will take the bus in the morning. On the return trip the two classes will swap rides.

Mrs. Connie Wordelman, former Mrs. Minnesota, will be the guest speaker for the Extension Home Program Achievement Day on April 22.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will dedicate its new parsonage after the service on Sunday morning.

The Fulda Lions Club launched its door to door collection for house and business number placement.

Larry Koehn was named Fulda American LegionPost Boy’s Stater. Daniel Busch was named alternate.

Tiny Little to entertain at the Corral Supper Club on Sunday, April 23.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Saxhaug are the parents of a son, Timothy born April 2nd. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Otto Saxhaug and Erick Carlson.

Naomi Faye Lehman passed away at the age of 15 years old. Funeral services were held on Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Ernest Gundermann passed away April 8th at the age of 64 years old.

2nd Lt. Lonny L. Giesen, Fulda, Minnesota received his Wings at the Jet Pilot Training Program at Webb Air Base, Big Springs, Texas on March 18th.

Thursday, April 23, 1987

Mary Ann Boom celebrates 31 years as secretary with Interstate Power Company.

Conservation poster winners are Denyse Burmeister, Andrea Wuebker and Joleen Weiner.

The Fulda Area Lake Preservation Corp. dredged the boat access area of Fulda Lake on Tuesday and Wednesday. They dug down five feet and removed up to 100 loads of sand and silt from the lake.

Fulda City Council has plans to have the water tower inspected.

Fulda FFA honors Marvin Mischke for outstanding support of the program at their banquet.

Lori Halbur and Jeff Knutson announce their engagement. A June wedding is planned.

Community Choir to perform Handel’s “Messiah” on April 26th.

Dola Simons passed away at the age of 83 years old on March 26, 1987.

Funeral services were held on April 17 for Vernon Mitchell who passed away at the age of 54 years old.

Obera A. Meyer passed away at her home on April 6th at the age of 88.

Wednesday, April 16, 1997

It was on April 19, 1995 that the Fulda Legion Hall was consumed by flames, leaving only the frame of the old hall standing. Exactly two years later, April 19, 1997, an open house will be held at the new Fulda Community Hall/American Legion Post 318.

Fulda Cantata to begin practice of “Make Us One” to be performed April 21st.

Fulda speech members advancing to state contest are Laura Kremer, Jodie Joens and Tonya Grothe.

Fulda FLA has 58 members heading to state competition to be held on April 24-26.

The Spring Band Concert was held at the Fulda High School this week.

Ernst Ruck and Harold Heeler of Fulda, Germany made a visit to Fulda, Minnesota on Friday morning. The two plan to continue on to see the Black Hills and Yellowstone before flying home on May 1st.

St. Paul’s students participate in Fine Arts Festival held in Northrup on Saturday.
