Mr. and Mrs. George Meyer have leased the Cafe portion of Lanoues’ Cafe and Bowling. Mr. and Mrs. Lanoue will continue to operate the Bowling Lanes. Best of luck is wished to them all in their new undertakings.
Lanoues’ Recreation to hold his open house on March 27th. The new four lane bowling center, with automatic pin setters was completed last fall. Jack Aydelotte, professional bowler, will be on hand for instructions and exhibitions.
Thirteen-year old Linda Benson, handicapped by polio, spent two happy weeks at Camp Courage, the Easter Seal Society’s specially designed camp for crippled children.
Mrs. Gervaisse Sobotta, English teacher, has submitted her resignation to the Fulda School Board. Mrs. Sobotta has taken a position elsewhere.
Miss Dorothy Adrian has been granted a leave of Absence by the School Board to attend a study in Mathematics under the Academic Year Institute. Miss Adrian has taught Girls Physical Education and Mathematics in Fulda for the past four years.
Joyce Steinman and Marvell Kellen announce their engagement. No wedding date has been set.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Steinman are happy over the arrival of a son, Lynn, born St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th.
Henry Kronveter of Pipestone was on his way home when his car was struck by a train near Ivanhoe on Friday afternoon. His wife is the former Elsie Westerdahl of Fulda. Surviving besides his wife are two sons.
Mrs. Mary Harder passed away Tuesday morning, March 22nd at the age of 84 years old.
Mrs. Oscar Pederson has been selected as the winner of the Everfresh Chow Mein Noodle – Favorite Recipe contest:
Crunchies & a Kiss Cookies
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar -packed
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 egg white
1 cup Everfresh
Chow Mein Noodles
24 Heshey’s Kisses
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Add sifted flour and salt with nuts. Roll in balls. Beat egg white slightly. Dip balls in egg white and roll in crushed Everfresh Chow Main Noodles.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet, bake 5 minutes at 375˚. Press thumb gently on top of each cookie. Re turn to oven bake 8 minutes longer.
Remove from oven and place a Hershey Kiss in each hollow. Remove from cookie sheet.

Fulda Public Schools Band Department will present the annual Spring Band Concert on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
A second Public Hearing regarding the water tower and treatment plant project was held Monday night. The cost of the project to users will be $21.45 per quarter or $7.15 per month.
Freshman Julie Kramer places second in the National Indoor Track Meet held in Vermillion at the famed Dakota Dome with a time of 4:38.3 in the 1500 meter run.
Citizens of Tomorrow include Justin and Ashley Wildfeuer, Jesse Sauer and Samantha Koehne, and Rachel and Laura Gunderman.
The first Presidential news conference to be televised was held by President Eisenhower on January 19, 1955.

Fulda Clean Up Day is a success thanks to the forty to fifty volunteers who came out on Saturday morning to clean up the lake shore. Included in the volunteers were members of the Raider football team, FLA, Fulda Fish and Game, and the Beautify Fulda Club.
Featured in Fulda High School Senior Profiles this week are Javi Carcia, Veronika Moravacova, Nicole Schweigert and Myron S. Trejo.
Sixth graders enjoy ceramic class with Connie Johnson.
Fulda chapter has 41 FLA members advancing to State competition.
Steve Brake, a farmer and lifelong Nobles County resident, announced that he is running for the Minnesota House of Representatives District 22A.
Mrs. Murray County Sue Nelson was crowned Mrs. Minnesota on March 19th. She will go on to compete in the Mrs. International contest later this summer.
Madilyn Nelson underwent a third organ transplant recently; 1st was a liver in 1989; 2nd was a kidney in 1994; 3rd was a kidney in 2000.
Gertrude Durnan passed away on March 19, 2000 at the age of 98 years old.
Raymond Graff passed away on March 15, 2000 at the age of 84 years old.
Adeline Knott passed away on March 17, 2000 at the age of 87 years old.
