On Friday, April 27th, the Fulda Reading Club presented a 6 foot Norway Pine, Minnesota’s State Tree, to the Village of Fulda to commemorate 75 years for the Reading Club. In addition, Mrs. Margaret Downey, senior Reading Club member, asked that a sealed jar be buried near the base of the tree with a 1972-73 Reading Club program book and a document citing the day signed by the mayor of Fulda.
A large group of local men turned out to help Virg Landsman clean smelt on Sunday for the upcoming annual Smelt Fry to be held at the Corral in Fulda.
Fulda firemen have a busy weekend. On Friday they responded to a machine shed fire at the Bob Kuehl place and on Sunday to an out of control grass fire Fritscher farm place.
In conjunction with National Hospital Week, May 6th to 12th, the Worthington Regional Hospital Auxiliary will be conducting tours of the hospital outpatient facilities on Sunday, May 6th.
Grassroots Community Theatre announced two children’s plays coming to Fulda; Rumpelstiltsken and The Lion and The Mouse.
Theodore Chepa passed away on April 21, 1973 at the age of 69 years old.

R. B. and Anna Tammen Janssen will be celebrating 70 years of married life on May 8th. Anna, who will be 88, and R. B., who is 91, plan to live their remaining days together ‘day by day’!

The Fulda City Council hears from Pudge Sanow about drilling exploratory wells for water within the city. The cost would be $3.00 per foot and several holes would have to be dug. The test well project was approved.
Gail Lund and Ron Kruger announce their engagement. A September 3rd wedding is planned.
Cheryl Sandhurst and Ron Pierson were united in marriage on March 19, 1988 at Immanuel American Lutheran Church.
Dale and Lois Winch are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Eric, born April 29th. Grandparents are Bill and Leona Dierks and Bert and Jean Winch.
Mrs. Duitsman, Choral Director, presented Darren Bruck with the Outstanding Senior Award at the concert held Monday evening after the choir presented their rendition of “Grease’.

Darwin and Terese Kruse and their daughters serve as ambassadors for WalkAmerica. Several businesses by Mile Markers or Check Points for WalkAmerica; Holinka Disributing, Aanenson Agency, 1st Natioanl Bank and Fulda Electric. Also participating in this years walk are the Junior Girl Scouts, the Fulda Reading Club, the Fulda Women of Today and the Fulda Wrestling team.

Four members of Fulda TOPS 1037 joined several hundred TOPS members for the two day State Recognition Days in Rochester May 1 and 2. Attending from Fulda were Diane Kirchner, Lucille Bestge, Therese Dardis and Irma Schwantes.
