Lawrence Schwarz and Leonard Knorr, carpenters of Great Plains Supply Company, installed a new sign for Jack and Jill (previously Clover Farm) this week.
A brake-in occurred at the Jack and Jill store during the night with the robbers netting about $900.00 and leaving behind a trail of blood. The incident is being investigated by local law enforcement.
Patricia Ann Palmer engaged to Capt. Wayne J. Crowley. An August wedding is planned.
Thirteen year old Timmy Lanoue, was injured on Monday while out shooting blackbirds inside the protective fence inclosing transformers of Interstate Power Company. Young Timmy crawled up the metal frame about 10 feet to get closer to the birds at which time he received about 14,000 volts of electricity throughout his body. Wordelmans Ambulance rushed the boy, who regained consciousness upon their arrival, to Slayton and then to Sioux Valley. Timmy’s injuries were caused primarily by his tennis shoes which were melted to his feet.
Martin Heyen was laid to rest here on Saturday after passing away at the age of 88 on May 23rd.
Mrs. Alex Ramerth passed away on May 22nd at the age of 62 years old.
Emmit Shea passed away on May 13th after a brief illness at the age of 69 years old.
Gary Cummins and Benny Amborn are just two of the firemen that responded to the hog feeder fire at the Jerry Ramert farm southeast of Fulda on Monday afternoon.
The other fire call this week was an accidental alarm set of by the telephone men repairing a broke line.

Principal Marv Mischke will be missed at the Fulda High School as he takes his retirement at the close of the school year.
Kiddie Parade set for Friday, June 6th sponsored by the Fulda Women of Today.
Fulda Area Lake Preservation Corp sponsored it’s 2nd Annual Fishing Derby this past weekend and again it was a great success.
Mike Boedigheimer, CPA for the city, says that Fulda was in better shape than a large majority of cities of the same size.
Graduation Commencement Ceremony held at the Fulda High School with 37 seniors.
St. Paul’s Lutheran School holds pet day.
Sophomore Julie Kramer qualified for the State Track Meet for the fourth Straight year with a couple of second-place finishes in the Region 2 meet. In the 3200 meter run Julie lowered her own record by 28 seconds to 11:16.7 and ran a 5:12 in the 1600 meter run.
Fulda Fish and Game Club donates money to the Fulda FFA club for it’s pheasant raising program.
L.C. (Babe) Gerhard passed away on May 23rd at the age of 75 years old.
Bernard Wisdorf suffered a heart attack and passed away suddenly at the age of 69 years old on May 21st.
E.O. Fritz Reusse, 91, passed away after a short illness on May 24th.

Lydia Danneman passed away on May 20th at the age of 89 years old.
Kasey Aanenson earns fourth straight trip to state golf meet as she ties for 2nd place at the Section 3A Tournament.
Jeff Baumgartner established a new school record in the triple jump with a leap of 42’2” breaking the old mark of 41’6”.
