In a transaction completed last week, the partnership of Wally Getzel and Clarence Johlfs, sold their Service Station – Car Wash to John ‘Doug’ Sturm with possession on August 15th.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kass announce the engagement of their daughter, Helen to Conrad Miller. An October wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wieskus are the parents of a son, Daniel, born August 10th.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boomgarden are the parents of a son, Douglas born August 13th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Busch and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Boomgarden.

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Heintz are the parents of a daughter, Linda, born August 12th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Heintz.

A son was born to to Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Davis named Robert.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schroeder are the parents of a son born August 9th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schroeder and Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Wenzel.

Mr. and Mrs. Garner Paulson (the former Norma Dierks) are the parents of a son, Garen Jon. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dierks and Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Paulson.

At a candle light service in Unity Lutheran Church, Bel-Nor, Beverly Thieman became the bride of Alan Gunderman on July 30th.

The Continental Co-ets are on their second tour of Canada and will be there for twenty-one days.

A2/c Lane Jansma to leave for the Philippines August 22nd.

Pfc. Glen Miller returned to Ft. Lewis on sunday after spending his leave at home with his parents.

Three girls were injured in an accident near Westbrook when they failed to make the curve by Oaks Lake approximately 1:15 a.m. Saturday.

Fulda Class of 1951 held a reunion with 20 classmates present.

The Minnesota State Fair and the Farmer Magazine recognized 279 1986 Century Farms.

FishAmerica Foundation to give $4,500 to Fulda Area Lake Preservation Corp.

It was threshing time Tuesday on the Harold Teerink farm south of Fulda. A 1926 Minneapolis Crossmotor 17-30 Type B, owned by Doug Leinen, powered his 1929 McCormick-Deering Threshing Machine.

Kevin and Roxanne Hilfers are proud to announce the arrival of their son, Ryan Kevin, August 5th. Grandparents are Don and Clarine Uttech and Paul and LaVae Hilfers.

Robert Schwab passed away unexpectedly July 28th at the age of 56 years old.

Fulda’s Elementary Principal.

Two empty threats of bad weather filled rain gauges across the county last week. Turbulent clouds caused spotters to be sent out both last Tuesday and Saturday.

Relay for Life raises money and hope for American Cancer Society – held at the Murray County fairgrounds.

Ground-breaking held for KSMN public television near Chandler.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Jennifer Penoyer; Kelsey Heppler; and Megan Blanchard.

Open house to be held at the Fulda Post Office.

Susan Koster and David Gosmire were united in marriage on May 18th at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington.

Kimberly Voss and Clarence Scott were united in marriage on June 22nd at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Slayton.

Becky Clayton and Eric Hipple were united in marriage at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on June 29th.

Ed and Ann Balt observe their 50th wedding anniversary on August 29th.

Clara Hellwinckel celebrated her 87th birthday on January 25th.
