Many people enjoyed the music Friday evening performed by the Junior High Band in the City Park band shell.
The Fulda Summer Festival will be held July 20-22 with entertainment for all ages. Events include carnival rides, square dancing, bingo, parade, food and fun.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Voss celebrate 40 years of marriage with a dance on Saturday night and a family picnic on Sunday.
The wedding vows of Roxanne Schwantes and Keith Hakeneis were solemnized at St. Pauls’ Lutheran Church in Fulda on May 19th, 1973 with the Rev A. J. Kretzschmar officiating.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Paplow on Saturday, June 23rd at Windom Hospital.
Betty Lambert, age 41, passed away early Friday morning, June 15th, the result of burns she suffered at her farm home near Clinton on Memorial Day.
Pals Cafe is open this Sunday serving meat loaf and roast beef.
The Young Raiders will be performing 50s, 60s, and 70s music at the Fulda Legion Hall on July 4th.

Nick’s Red Owl is hosting The Photo Charm Company which is offering 8×10 portraits for only 99¢. The company will be set up at Red Owl on Monday July 2nd only.

The new beach at Seven Mile Park is almost done. Now it is time for all bathing beauties to take advantage of the sun and sand.
Local basketball star, Arvid Kramer, and his wife Anke, have spent a portion of their vacation with Arvid’s parents Marvin and Marion Kramer on the farm south of Fulda. Arvid was on his way to Fulda when the NBA draft picks were announced and he had quite a surprise waiting for him when his plane landed in the Cities. Arvid had been chosen to play basketball for the Miami Heat. But Arvid says he is happy with the life he has made. At age 31, he is living in West Germany with his family, works at a fitness and health center, and enjoys playing basketball…for fun. Playing for the Heat is not a realistic goal for Arvid.
Duane Bondhus has been working as Murray County Auditor since 1967.
The Fulda School Board has passed a motion to make the school grounds smoke free. Announcements will be made before each event.
Mary and Doug Schipper enjoyed a trip to Nashville where they were lucky enough to meet Randy Owne of the group Alabama, Johnny Cash, and Helen Cornelius.
Tracey Hoffman and Kurt Beeck were married on June 4th at St. Leo Catholic Church.
Debra Moravec and Mark Wisdorf were married April 9th at the Mass in Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault.
Lois Heintz and Dr. James Creech announce their engagement. The couple is planning a September 10 wedding in Fulda.
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Engler will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on July 9th.
Dean Johnson passed away on June 17th near Delano, Minnesota as a result of injuries suffered in a traffic accident at the age of 27 years old.
Gabrielle Heer passed away on June 24th at the age of 93 years old.
Wayne Burdick passed away June 19th at the age of 67 years old.

Fulda Wood Duck Festival is a flying success with hard hats coming out for the Kiddie parade and the Grand parade with the theme Under Construction.
Fulda’s real construction crew, Larson Crane, was busy laying asphalt along the north edge of Front Street from highway 59 to the middle of the Nobles County Coop Station. The remainder of the asphalt needing to be replaced will be done after the work on St. Paul Avenue is complete.
An accident occurred on Friday near Dundee when a motorcycle driven by Joel Heger left the roadway entering the ditch. Both Heger and his passenger, Kristina Cooley were taken to the hospital.
Area trees, gardens, and a few vehicles sustained damage on Wednesday night as wind gusts of 65 mile per hour and varying amounts of rain went through Fulda.
Pie and Ice Cream Social to be held at the Fulda Depot on Thursday.
Patty Kirchner and Brent Grube announce their engagement. An august 29th wedding is planned.
Amy Stubbe and David Jans announce their engagement. An August 15th wedding is planned.

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Fischer are the parents of a baby girl, Serina born on June 18th.

Elaine Schwarz Barr passed away on June 28th.
Irvin Onken passed away on June 24th at the age of 75 years old.
Six local tracksters will be traveling to the State Track meet in Hutchinson on July 11th; they are Erin Oakland, Katrina Kramer, Kaitlyn Kramer, Brittany Goedtke, Jamie Goedtke, and Danny Hup.
