The Sixth Annual Horse Show held in Wirock on Sunday saw their largest crowds and most exhibitors ever.
The Farmers Co-Operative Commission Company will hold their 50th annual meeting on July 15th. The company was incorporated in March of 1909.
J. T. Schueller is appointed as Murray County Attorney. Schueller served as County Attorney from 1939 to 1942 and from 1947 to 1954. He has been practicing law in Fulda since 1937 and has lived his entire life here.
The first ever Flower Show at the Presbyterian Church was a ‘most pleasing success’. Subjects covered were cut flowers and flower arrangements such as vases and baskets.
Alice Peddycoart attends Girls State after being selected by the Dundee American Legion Auxiliary.
Fulda Giants win three big games this week; Fulda 11 – Worthington 1, Fulda 9 – Dundee 1, and Fulda 12 – Luverne 4.
Services for Peggy Lee, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Goedtke were held Wednesday afternoon at the Westbrook Funeral Home. Peggy was born on Monday, July 8th.
Ed Gilster passed away on Friday missing his 83 birthday by a couple of days.
Darlene Miller and Donald A. Magnus announce their engagement. The wedding date is set for September 12.

Thanks to a grant through Trade and Economic Development Celebrate 1990, the City of Dundee is sprucing up! The large group of volunteers were able to build a new picnic shelter and rest rooms, remove an old trailer and dead trees, and relandscape at the park. Across the street a basketball and tennis court will be installed. Congratulations to Dundee on their town improvements.
The Fulda Wood Duck Festival of 1989 is in the books and was a great time for all who attended under the theme ‘Fly me to the Moon’!
According to CPA Mike Boedigheimer’s review of the 1988 audit with the Fulda City Council, the city should be debt free by the end of the year. Fulda will be one of only ten or twelve cities that will accomplish this task.
Fulda Girl Scouts Darci Bruns and Jolene Ackerman participated in the Pioneerland Adventure trip traveling with thirty-seven other girls and six adults to Arco, Atwater, Fairfax, Fairmont, Fulda, Glencoe, Hector, Mankato, Olivia, St. James, Sherburn and Tyler.
Michael Bothwell passed away at the age of 30 years old on July 7th as the result of a drowning at Lake of Ozarks, Kamdenton, MO.
Jenny Fuerstenberg and Jeff Towne were married at Saint Gabriel’s Church in Fulda on June 24th with Rev. Gregory Leif officiating.

David Sleeper appeared at the Fulda City Hall were he introduced over 50 children to the world of ventriloquism.
One of the Fulda Police cars, a 1992 Crown Victoria, was running low on oil again ruining the engine for the third time. A used engine may be put in for $1,500.
In 1996, Howard Hamilton, Arlan Moger and Bob Nelson formed Environmental Dust Control. Their product, Dustlock, a soy based dust and gravel tamer, has been applied to public and private gravel roads, campgrounds, fairgrounds and work areas.
Renovations are taking place at the Fulda Depot thanks to a $5,000 grant from the State Historical Society. Some of the grant money is being used to repair the 100 year old brick walkway. The original brick will be lifted out, the ground will be levelled and the original brick replaced. Also replaced was the wood walkway across the tracks and the inside of the outhouse.

Brad and Tracey Robb would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Sadie on July 13th. Grandparents are Shari and the late Bob Wolf, and Janet and the late Ray Robb.
Brett and Kimberly Getzel announce the arrival of their daughter, Brooklyn on July 14th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Dick Dammerman and Barb Polaschak.
Celebrating birthdays this month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home are Jim Steiner, Emma Sundermeyer, Ella Lober, Priscilla Delauries, Derald Nepp, Louise Zins and Leona Beckman.
The Fulda Jr. High girls softball team slugged out a first place finish in tournament action on Friday.
