Five local girls vie for queen of the Fulda Summer Festival to be held on July 22nd: Beverly Busch, Jane Clark, Deborah Fisher, Nancy Isder and Mary Odenbrett. Join in the Festival fun with a parade, soap box derby, Beef Bar-b-que, queen pageant, teen dance and fireworks.
Arthur Koch and Perry Schweigert, riding together on a motorcycle on “59” Thursday, struck a cow and were thrown off the vehicle. Both were taken to the Worthington hospital.
The Interstate Power Company is conducting a mail survey of all it’s customers to gain their opinion on how they regard the Company, the employees and the service.

Albert Graf passed away on July 11th at the age of 75 years old.
Mrs. C. L. Looker (Edith) passed away at Maple Lawn Nursing Home at the age of 63 years old.

John Lubben is top salesperson selling Handy Paks for the Fulda FFA chapter as part of the Monsanto Farm Chemical Safety program.
Carl Sasse, and his son Charlie, swathed the oats by Maple Lawn this week.
Pamela Stoel and James Stanton were united in marriage at the First Reformed Church in Edgerton on June 13th.
Darla Leyk and Curtis Fiedler announce their engagement. A September 5th wedding is planned.
Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home are Emma Sundermeyer, Tillie Nelson, Amanda Jorgenson, Louise Zins and Bill Lepold.
Loretta Fitzgerald Butler passed away at the age of 83 years old on July 14th.

Three Fulda youth pursue their musical dream forming “2001” a 90’s alternative/Classic Rock band. The band members include Justin Meyer, lead guitar and vocals, Dallas Koopman, drums and vocals, and Nick Bergman, bass guitar.
Fulda FLA/FHA members travel to the National Convention in San Diego. Katie Bolton, Tyson Elder and Michael Lund receive Gold on their National Star Events.
The preliminary improvement plans for Judicial Ditch #13 were heard at the special meeting held at the Fulda City Hall on Wednesday evening. The system was constructed in 1915 for $25.000 and has become outdated.
Construction is nearing the final stages on the bridge that lies just north of Fulda on Highway 59. The pavement has been completed, new rock has been laid on the stream banks underneath the bridge, and the rails on the sides of the bridge have been added.
Fulda Crazy Days held this week with popcorn, ice cream and pony rides offered by local businesses.
Dan and Becky Fox are proud to announce the birth of a baby girl, Morgan born July 2nd. Grandparents are Vern and Jeannie Fox and Stan and Eva Clausen.
