Father Edward Scheuring, after serving the parish at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church since 1966, has begun his duties at Sacred Heart Church in Brewster.
Resident from the Fulda, Avoca, Dundee and Kinbrae area were very fortunate when high winds and thunderstorms struck on Sunday evening. Thanks to the sounding of sirens no injuries were reported, however several tree limbs were downed.
Jon Hart, son of Rev. and Mrs. Jack Hart, was killed in an automobile accident on June 25th. Rev. Hart is a former pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Fulda.
A collision occurred between a motorcycle, driven by Daniel Koopman, and a car, driven by Soph Burnham, on Friday morning on the corner of 4th street and Lafayette Avenue in Fulda. Koopman received minor injuries. The motorcycle had $300 damage and the car had $350 damage.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Freetly are being honored on their 50th wedding anniversary on July 8th with an open house at St. Gabriel’s Church.

Robert Clarke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Clarke, is presently stationed with the 824th CES at Kadena AFB, Okinawa.

On July 1, Northwestern Bell will change its name and become U. S. WEST Communications. The employees and service to the community will remain the same.

Tonetta Cohen and Robert Hardekopf announce their engagement. A February wedding is being planned.

Monte Beckmann and Beverly Breit were married on April 9th in Denton, Texas.
Denise Arends and Dave Thompson were married at Talcot Lake on Sunday afternoon.
Henry Wisdorf passed away on July 1st at the age of 83 years old.
Reuben Hartman passed away on June 20th at the age of 72 years 1 month and 2 days.

Crystal Friese recently made a trip to the Dominican Republic through a program at Bethel College. While there, Crystal, and several other students, worked to pour cement for the future ‘Cenro Infatil y Materna’ building in the city of San Pedro.
Fulda City Council approves the Housing Rehab project presented by John Thomsen from R & H Management.
At approximately 11:45a.m. on Saturday the Nobles County Sheriff’s Department was called to an accident at the intersection of County Road 9 and County Road 18. Blanch Anderson, driving a 1983 Datsun was north bound on County Rd. 9 and Brian Ackerman driving a 1985 Pontiac owned by Kevin Schweigert was headed west on Co. Rd. 18 when the collision occurred.
The Fulda Police Department was called to a possible break in on Friday at 406 E. Lake Street where they found the door jam and the glass broken. The incident remains under investigation.
Construction continued on St. Paul Avenue this week with the replacement of the sewer lines leading to the homes between the corners of Third and Fourth Streets.
As of press time on Tuesday, candidates filing for public office in Murray County include; Auditor/Treasurer, Gary D. Spaeth, William D. Wilke; Sheriff – Ronald McKenzie; Recorder – Jim Johnson. The election will be held November 3, 1998.
Nancy Overman and Dale Fischer announce their engagement. The couple plan an August 8th wedding.
Long time Fulda resident, Pete Meyers will celebrate his 90th birthday on July 12th.
Gary and Deb Haper are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Ana, born on June 25th. Grandparents are Leo and Dolores Crowley and Tony and Loretta Haper.
Jeffery Johnson passed away on June 30th at the age of 35 years old.
