Salt is a necessary spice of life – Although the exact physiological, nutritional and medical value of salt has not fully been established, its importance to good health is vital. Nature has apparently endowed man as well as other members of the animal kingdom with an alarm system which creates an appetite for salt when the natural body supply is below normal. However, persons with heart trouble are advised to consult a physician before consuming additional quantities of salt.

Luella Brady became a good Samaritan when she heard about a lady from Iowa looking for a seamstress. The grandmother, named Virgina, had been saving her handkerchiefs all her life. She wanted to give them to her only granddaughter but in a special way. She wanted to have them made into a quilt. It just so happened that Virgina’s granddaughter was a friend of Luella’s granddaughter – thus the opportunity presented it self for Luella to do a good deed. So, Luella used her imagination to create a hand stitched, beautiful heirloom quilt for a grandmother, she didn’t know, to give her granddaughter as a keepsake.
