Murray County Free Fair opens today!

Janet Brady and Dennis Gillespie announce their engagement. A December 30 date has been set.

USDA Plentiful Foods Program is, again, holding a Sanwich Recipe Contest. Deadline is August 23.

Funeral services for Matie Ohlenkamp were held on August 15th at the Pfingsten Lutheran Church.

Mr. and Mrs. William Leopold Jr. are the parents of a daughter Julie born August 12th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hussong and William Leopold Sr.

Miniature bridal bouquets and a setting of flowers in shades of pink, yellow and white at the front of the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda provided the setting on August 6th for the marriage of Judith Storm and Bill Crandall.

Mr. and Mrs. George Behr return home from a 6,000 mile trip taking them through Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and California.

Albert Speckmeier has been serving on the Murray County Fair Board for over 25 years.

Adam and Travis Sauer are members of the Fulda Busy Bees 4-H Club and have been busy preparing to show their rabbits at the Murray County Fair.

Brodie Deuschle found the donkey races a bit of a challenge as he landed with his head stuck in the dirt at the Murray County Fair.

The record albums that the Fulda High School Concert and Stage Bands recorded last spring are finally here. They can be purchased for $10.95 at the Fulda Highs School main office.

The Fulda City Council discussed the lighting on Hwy 59 with the motion passing to change the 175W mercury vapor lights to 150W high pressure sodium lights.

Representing Fulda at the Second Annual Murray County Relay of Life was the Fulda Wood Duck team of Phil Elskamp, Lois Elskamp, Virginia Anderson, Howard Anderson, Betty Voss, Gene Voss, Bernita Kirchner, Donna Lenards, Louise Johnson, Theresa Dardis, and Diane Kirchner.

Come to the Murray County fairgrounds on Friday and join us for a Pork Loin Dinner ($6.00). All proceeds to go the Murray County 4-H program.

All Aboard! Antiques open in downtown Fulda.

Abby Oakland, Erin Oakland and Jamie Goedtke had the opportunity to participte in the National Hershey’s Track Meet held in Hershey, Pennsylvania this week.

Featured in Citizens of Tomorrow are Ashley, Kelsie, and Corey Thiner; Alisa, Danyel, and Marcus Schweigert; and Nikki, Kirstin, and Cody Ommen.

Sterling Holmes and Erin Arthurs announce the engagement. A November 1st wedding is planned.

John Bestge passed away at the age of 89 years old on August 7th.
