Richard W. Dierks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dierks was selected from a field of ninety thousand high school students to fly to Los Angeles, California to make physical fitness films with Kaleidoscope Productions in Hollywood. Rick is one of six boys selected to participate in the “All American Boys” President’s Council on Physical Fitness program.

Grand Opening held this weekend at Bob’s North Star Station located on Highway 59 just south of the Cottonwood Drive-in. Bob Mixell opened his station in the old Edwards Oil Company building.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Becker are the parents of a son, Gregory, born Wednesday, July 26th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Sant.

Fulda Little Leaguers win Championship by defeating Lismore on the home field on Friday evening. The Fulda win came behind hits in the sixth inning from Steve Maher, Butch Stock, Marty Meyer and Mark Olson. Gary Hogan was the winning pitcher.

Miss Janice Schmit and Mr. Larry Hansen were united in marriage on Sunday, July 23rd at Faith Lutheran Church in Westbrook.

Murray County Free Fair to be held August 17, 18, and 19.

Clarence Schweigert was ready, with his three-tinged fork, to pitch bundles during Saturday’s threshing bee in Fulda.

Lori Isder and Bradley Oeltjenbruns were united in marriage on May 30th at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton.

Harold and Della Dierks to observe their 50th wedding anniversary.

Rob and Lynne Hicklin are the proud parents of a son, Robert born August 1. Grandparents are Roland and Shirley Buschena.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Weavers are the parents of a son, Paul born July 26th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Weavers and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Isder.

Jay and Lynn Dekker are proud to announce the arrival of their daughter, Kayla born July 25. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bouwman and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Dekker.

Stacie Magnussen and Kyle Hicks were united in marriage on March 22nd at First Presbyterian Church in Fulda.

Clifford Langer passed away on July 26th at the age of 86 years old.

Wayne Duncan passed away on July 26th at the age of 82 years old.

Carl Kleve passed away on July 25th at the age of 81 years old.
