Congratulations goes out to Marilyn Ruesch of Fulda who was Crowned Miss Worthington last Tuesday evening. Miss Ruesch is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ruesch.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Sturm, and their children, Douglas, Daniel and Terry, drove to Minneapolis on Thursday to attend the wedding of their son, Donald to Betty Lou Heindrick on September 19th at St. Olaf’s Catholic Church.
Candelabra, palms and flowers at the alter of the Methodist Church in St. James provided the setting on Saturday evening for the marriage of Darlene Miller and Donald Magnus.
Candelabra and garden flowers adorn the alter at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church for the marriage of Annette Hager and Kenneth Anderson on September 19th.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bixby of Fulda are the parents of a son, born Monday at Worthington.
The Reverend and Mrs. Norman Heintz of London, England, are the parents of daughter, Jo Anne, born September 19th. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heintz of Kinbrae are the grandparents.
Rites were held on Wednesday for Clarence Uttech, 47, who died Sunday after a 14-month illness in the Madelia hospital. Clarence was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Uttech of Fulda.
Friends here received word on Tuesday of the death of Leon Tolversen, former Fulda resident. More details will be available next week.

A new pizza restaurant will soon be opening in Fulda in the old Reusse building – Tony Haper, who purchased the building from Rex Wordelman, hopes to start renovations the first of October and open for business sometime in November.
Fulda School Board discussed the naming of the wrestling team at its regular meeting. There will be nominations from each school (Fulda and Slayton) with the top two being voted on by the entire student body of both schools.
A mutual aid emergency drill was held in Fulda on Saturday with fire departments from Avoca, Chandler, Lake Wilson, Edgerton, Dovray, Slayton and Fulda in attendance. Also, making their services available were rescue units from Avoca, Slayton and Fulda. The primary lesson was to how to handle smoke filled buildings.
The Fulda FFA Chapter received Most Improved Chapter Award at the Annual Fall Leadership meeting held in Pipestone.
Katherine Johnson and Russell Widman were united in marriage on June 3rd at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook.
Doug and Vicki Canfield would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Kaysea, born September 18th in anchorage, Alaska.
Henry J. Kirchner passed away on September 18th after suffering a heart attack at his home. Mr. Kirchner was 73 years old.

Crowned 1999 Homecoming Royalty are Queen Lindsay Appel and King Nate Isder.
Brothers Cody and Calen Ross participate in the National Youth Squirrel Hunt. Both boys did very well coming away with several prizes.
The combines are running and harvest is in full swing with the gorgeous weather allowing the farmers to gather in their soybean crops late into the evening.

The Art and Flower Show held at the Fulda Community/Legion Hall was well attended. The featured display this year was that of Gen Stewart and her various Christmas and Halloween items.
Amelia “Millie” Dalin is honored as Resident of the Month at Maple Lawn Nursing Home.
Rob and Tom Kuhl were generous enough to share their 65 pound watermelon with the children of Sue Daniels Day Care last week.
Curt Koopman goes bear hunting in a small northern town of Northhome, MN. Shoots a 127 pound bear.
Students of the week at St. Paul’s Lutheran School were Brittany Baerenwald and Emily Baumann.
Brianna Bestge participated in the “Box City” held at the high school on Friday night. The event was sponsored by the Fulda FLA/FCCLA.
Mildred Vortherms celebrates her 80th birthday with an open house on October 3rd.
Krista Holton and Peter Beerman were married on June 26th at Akron Four Square Church in Akron, Colorado.
Becky Bartosh and Nathan Vandevanter were married at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church on May 29th.
Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home this month are Lillian Iverson, Mary Hogan, Bill Hinderer, Lucille Swanson, Rose Bremer, Lillian Popken and Geleta Olson.
Garland Nelson passed away at the age of 76 years old on September 18, 1999 following an extended illness.
