The 1967 FHS Homecoming candidates include Constance Scott, Cecelia Drealan, Constance Leopold, Suzanne Gilbertson, Duane Doucette, Daniel Busch, Rodney Loosbrock and Donald Haberman. Coronation is at 1 p.m. on Friday.
The Fulda Game and Fish Club have been busy working on reconstructing the damn located on the east side of Fulda’s 2nd Lake. Re-designing the dam structure will leave the water level the same but provide a screen high above the dam preventing fish from jumping up stream or down stream. The long range outlook could result in restocking the lake with desirable fish.
Jerry Schafer has recently joined his brother Paul in the local Jack & Jill Grocery Store. Jerry has spent the last eight years in the grocery business.
An Invitational Tennis Tournament will be played ont he Fulda Community Courts beginning October 15th. Tennis enthusiast from Iona, Adrian, Slayton and Fulda are in the lineup.
Mr. and Mrs. August Mischke will observe their golden wedding anniversary on October 1st.
Mr. and Mrs. Roland Buschena are the parents of a son, Scott, born on September 21st. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buschena and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stahlhut.
A baby son, Steven, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Plut, September 21.
At a candlelight service at the First Lutheran Church of Dundee on September 23, Julie Setten became the bride of Charles Engler. Reverend Merlyn Olson officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Connie Jones and Captain Dennis D. Beckmann were united in marriage at a military Protestant wedding on September 1st at Ellyson Field Naval Aviation Chapel.

Fall harvest is in full swing as area farmers enjoy warm weather, low humidity and excellent yields as they bring their crops out of the fields.
Fulda volunteer firefighters attended a training session where they learned to extinguish a propane fire with temperatures reaching 1500˚. Several men manned the fire hoses while a single firemen crawled to the propane valve to shut it off.
Being crowned Homecoming King and Queen were Pat Wuebker and Trisha Renneke.
Cindy Witzel and Jodie Getting were married on August 22nd at the First Presbyterian Church in Fulda with Rev. Kenneth Honius officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. James Beeck would like to announce the birth of a son, Bruce, on September 25, 1987. Grandparents include Lyle and Merna Beeck and Ray and Delores Ransom.
Wilfred Mahon passed away at the age of 70 years old on September 22, 1987.

Mr. Doug Froke reported to the Fulda Public School Board of Education that the statewide Levy is down $135 million. A reduction which was somewhat expected but is definitely good news.
Area farmers were invited to a meeting put on by Prairie Land Cooperative to hear of an opportunity to add value to their crops, including ethanol and manufacturing programs. This meeting dealt with growing corn with higher oil contents.
After School Adventures is a pilot program being offered as of February in the Fulda Elementary School. The program is aimed at “aiding the community with children who go home to an empty house or are unsupervised after school,” stated Mr. Mark Woitalewicz, Community Ed Director. The program offers a variety of activities for children including gym time, computer lab and the home economics room. Of course the children are encouraged to do their homework as well.
Queen Sarah Loosbrock and King Jeff Baumgartner will reign over Homecoming week festivities at the Fulda High School this week.
Thursday, September 19th, represented National POW MIA Remembrance Day. Flags were assembled in front of the Fulda City Hall by members of the Southwest Minnesota POW-MIA Marching Unit. Included were flags honoring MIA from WWII, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Persian Golf War.
Vince Tennessen won a Snapper Lawn Mower by entered a drawing called Snapper Mow ‘Em Down Inning sponsored by the Minnesota Twins.
Sixteen-year-old Sherry Sell shares her love of writing poetry with readers. A few of her favorite pieces include; “Friends Forever”, “Candice”, “Bob” and “My Poems”.
The Fulda Women of Today held their annual Style Show on Sunday at the Corral Supper Club.
This is only a drill—it was only make-believe!!! Firefighters and rescue crews participated in a county-wide school bus extraction drill. Attending the drill were firemen from Fulda, Slayton, Chandler, Lake Wilson and Iona.
Citizens of Tomorrow include Sarah, Samantha, and Sabrina Raddle; Sara, Danny and Kayla Dekker; and Stacy, Stephanie and April Gunderman.
Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home are Lillian Iverson, Mary Hogan, Geleta Olson, John Beckman and Ora Denney. Entertainment was provided by Holly Zins who played several piano pieces.
Lawrence Sieve passed away on September 19th at the age of 81 years old.
Jeremy Sanborn, a Certified Flight Instructor at Purdue, passed away on September 12, 1997 at the age of 24 years old after a flight training accident.
Great Grandma Lillian Heintz is happy to announce the blessing of triplet great grandchildren, Noah, Marissa, and Chloe, born to Matthew and Brenda Heintz.
