Fulda High School to host career night on October 27th.

Doc Schwarz displayed his archery equipment at the annual Dayton’s Hunting Fair.

Bertha Phillips passed away on Monday in Lakefield.

Charles Schmitz passed away on Sunday, October 2nd.

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Tinklenberg are the parents of a daughter, Brenda Kay born on October 1.

Mr. and Mrs. William Leopold Jr., are the parents of a son, James Thomas, born September 27th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hussong and Mr. William Leopold Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Vosberg are the parents of a daughter born at the Tracy Hospital. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ed Vosberg and Mr. and Mrs. William Engelkes.

Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sturm are the parents of a girl, Marti, born September 28th. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fries and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Sturm.

Johnny Appleseed visits the Fulda Elementary School as students learn how to turn apples into apple juice.

1986 Fulda Homecoming candidates include Donna Speckmeier, Jenny Greenfield, Melanie Michelau, Leslie Konz, Tim McNeal, Doug Kuehl, Tim Ramerth and Troy Wehking.

The Fulda Fire Department responded to a call at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning to the Otto Evers farm where a combine owned by Billy Dierks was severely damaged by fire. According to Fireman Bill Fuerstenberg, as Mr. Dierks pulled it out of the shed, it burst into flames.

Troy Wehking and Jay Clarke have been selected to attend the Minnesota Association of Cooperatives Conference in St. Paul on October 27th and 28th. The MAC Cooperative Conference for Youth offers young people an opportunity to learn more about or economic system and the role cooperatives play in the system.

Douglas and Pat Probst wish to announce the birth of their son, Geoffrey born September 23rd. Grandparents are Walter and Anne Grace and Elvera Probst.

St. Paul’s Lutheran School held their 2nd Annual Flag Football and Volleyball tournament last Saturday.

Mathilda Ackerman passed away on Monday morning, September 8th at the Worthington Regional Hospital at he age of 78 years old.

The Community Survey conducted August 27-29 for Fulda Small Cities Development Block Grant was a success. Of the 341 returned surveys the top items of concern included sidewalks, single family housing rehabilitation, dilapidated structure demolition commercial, sanitary sewer backup, streets, storm sewers, recreational facilities,  dilapidated structure demolition housing, water treatment, curb and gutter, new commercial development.

Shoplifting is becoming a problem in Murray County as it gets closer to Christmas. According to one Murray County business, who did not wish to be identified, there is a mother/daughter team – and they are good. Business are asked to be vigilant.

Rural Connections, a joint partnership of Response, Inc., and Livewire Printing Company both of Jackson has announce it will be installing local internet access for Fulda by October 25th, 1996.

A new memorial now graces the front lawn of the Fulda City Hall. It has been placed their to honor all the veterans who have served our country in every branch of the service.

Mike Crowley, crop insurance agent, met with members of the state’s congressional delegation and USDA officials in Washington to discuss the possibility of allowing Minnesota agents to offer the new Crop Revenue Coverage program.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Christopher, Nicholas and Andrew Henning; Sara, Daniel and Kayla Dekker; and Tabi, Brock and Katie Berghorst.

Luella Erbes died at her home on Thursday, September 26, 1996 at the age of 93 years old.

Michael and Theanne Pagel are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Suzanne, born September 25th. Grandparent include Arnold and Lynn Woodbury and Ewald and Ruth Pagel.

Joel and Lynn Timmerman are the parents of a boy, Shaun, born September 23rd. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Al Timmerman and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ahlers.
