If you happened to be watching CBS on Monday night, you may have recognized a few people in the audience.
Jack, Daisy and Travis Pierson attended the taping of the popular show The Price is Right on Monday, February 24th at CBS Television City in Los Angeles, CA. As the camera scanned the audience on Monday night several times the Pierson family were visible sitting in the second row.
The Pierson’s were required to be at the studio by 9:00 a.m. and the entire process took five hours to complete in order to be in attendance of the show. “There are many pauses in the production for retakes and camera corrections, etc” explained Travis. “In fact, one of the contestants who was called to ‘come on down’ had to go back to her seat and do it again because something wasn’t quite right. It was interesting and exciting to see behind the scenes and especially fun to be in the second row – so close to the action.”
Travis and Daisy were visiting their son, Jack, at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, CA for a week. “Since we had some time to spare during the day with Jack in class, we thought it would be fun to attend a live TV show taping,” said Daisy. The couple requested (free) tickets to many shows and ended up getting two–The Price is Right and Jimmy Kimmel Live (which they attended later that day). When Jack found out we could actually get three tickets, he really wanted to come with as well. “It was against my better judgement,” says Daisy. “But Travis got a ticket for Jack and he went too.”
