“This Sunday will be my first Sunday,” explained new interim Pastor Karla Kirkeby last week. Pastor Karla, who has joined Prairie Star Ministries, held services at Heron Lake and Grace Lutheran Churches on Sunday, November 27. “I’ve been warmly welcomed so far, and I am looking forward to getting to know people,” she added.
Prairie Star Ministries consists of the Heron Lake Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grace Lutheran Church in rural Worthington, First Lutheran Church in Dundee, Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Fulda (Pfingsten) and Amo Lutheran Church in rural Storden.
“I have met a lot of interesting people along the way and have had a lot of wonderful experiences,” Pastor Karla said of her career in the ministry. “God has been very gracious.” Busily working on organizing her office at the Heron Lake Church, Pastor Karla has met a few people and led the service at Lakeview Assisted Living in Heron Lake last week
