Presently located near the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rost Township (Jackson County), is a home built in the 1920s. “We just don’t use it enough to justify the expenses involved,” explained Steve Droll, one of the trustees on the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church board.
With that in mind, the board decided that maybe the house was something that another could use, and they are offering the house to others. “We aren’t asking anything for it,” Droll added. Trustee Eric Post echoed those sentiments, hoping that someone could be in need of a home.
“It has some really nice features,” Post said. Built in the 1920s as a parsonage, the home features five upstairs bedrooms with closet space in each. Hardwood floors are on the upper level. The lower level has a large living area, kitchen, office area and large entry. Built-in bookcases and a hutch are seen on the main level. A full bath with a claw foot tub is located upstairs, and a half bath is on the main level. There is a flight of stairs leading to the third floor, allowing for accessibility to the solid floor attic.
