A public informational meeting was held at Fulda City Hall on Thursday evening, September 13th, regarding the proposed fire hall.

Mayor John Maertens welcomed the fifty people who gathered, stating that the meeting was for the purpose of a friendly visit regarding the proposed fire hall study. Those in attendance were asked to listen to Fire Chief David Baumhoefner and then there would be time for questions and comments from the public.

Chief Baumhoefner then explained some of the needs of a modern fire hall and department, stating that the 1975 yellow pumper truck needs to be replaced, and that the fire trucks being constructed today will not fit through the ten foot doors at the current fire hall.

He said that Fire Chief Dan Wieskus had began the process of looking at either a new Fulda Fire Hall or remodeling the current hall and formed a committee to research the possibilities.
