Raider Road History Center at Fulda High School grew on Friday when Larry Zins delivered a box of memorabilia to Superintendent Loy Woelber.
Zins is a 1956 graduate of Fulda High School and has kept many photos, athletic letters, pins and bars – all of which he has donated to Raider Road History Center. While in high school, Zins participated in football, basketball, baseball and track.
While in high school at Fulda, Larry’s wife, Burdelle, was the year book production manager. Many of the photos that Larry donated to Raider Road History Center, were ones that were included in the annuals of 1953, 1954, 1955, and 1956.
Larry, and his wife, Burdelle (Gilbertson) farmed in the Fulda area until 1962. They moved to Pipestone where Larry worked at Lampert Lumber until 1967. Then the couple moved to California and lived in the Saugus area, and were then closer to Burdelle’s parents. He worked at Cascade Junction Rancher’s Supply, and was there when Magic Mountain was built. “That was fun. We got to test all of the rides and could ride them as often as we wanted when they held a special day for the Rancher’s Supply employees and their families,” Zins said.
