CLEVELAND — Facing the dazzling passing attack of Minnesota’s third-ranked 9-Man high school football team on its home field Friday night (September 30), the Fulda Raiders battled hard but could not overcome the all-around ability of the highly-ranked Cleveland Clippers.
Cleveland remained undefeated (5-0) with a convincing 42-6 victory after building quarter leads of 28-0 and 42-0 in the first half.
The Raiders, now 2-3, competed well after intermission, scoring the only touchdown of the second half when Levi Spittle hooked up with Dalton Slinger on a two-yard TD pass, capping a sustained Fulda drive with less than a minute remaining in the game.
“We had many bright spots,” summed up FHS head coach Greg Erdmann. “We nearly intercepted three passes, we blocked a punt, and we put together several nice clock-controlling drives when we had the ball. We played against a well-disciplined team, which is ranked third in the state and most likely will make a run for the state title.”
