Raiders drop opener to Windom; fall to Worthington

Raiders vs Windom, Thursday

Despite being swept by the Windom Eagles last Thursday night, the Raiders played solid volleyball and brought a lot of energy to the court in the first match of the season. In the first set, the hometown team jumped out to a 16-10 lead but the Eagles fought back and tied the game up at 17 before going on to win 25-20. The Raiders brought the same fight to set two but again couldn’t quite finish losing 17-25. The Eagles completed the sweep with a convincing 25-11 win in set three. The Eagles were led by Becca Hacker and Porsha Porath. Hacker finished the night with 15 set assists and six kills. Porath was a force at the net with 14 kills. For Fulda, Emily Schoer recorded 12 set assists and five digs, Camryn Baumhoefner had four kills and five digs, and Mackenzie Evers had five kills and four digs.

Tuesday night in Worthington, the Trojans used a balanced attack to sweep the Raiders 3 – 0.
