Connecting on eight 3-pointers and hustling for several offensive-rebound opportunities, the Murray County Central Rebels claimed a 62-43 victory over the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes in a Red Rock Conference high school girls’ basketball game last Monday night (February 10) at Slayton.
MCC led 41-28 at halftime and stretched the final margin to 19 points, winning the second half 21-15.
“MCC’s ability to shoot from the 3-point line really hurt us,” Coyotes head coach Andy Oakland said. “They also went hard after offensive rebounds and outworked us. We were unable to finish many of our defensive possessions with a good, solid rebound, and that spelled trouble for us.”
