Stellar individual performances by the trio of Cheyenne Schaffer, Morgan Gehl and Allison Kenney highlighted Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda’s girls’ results in the nine-team Worthington Invitational high school track and field meet at Trojan Field last Thursday, April 26.
Competing on a cool and very windy day, the Coyotes scored 33.5 points to finish in a tie for seventh place with Adrian, well ahead of Westbrook-Walnut / Red Rock Central’s total of 24.
Finishing ahead of HL-O / Fulda in the girls’ team standings were Luverne (148.5), Canby / Minneota (133.5), Southwest Christian / Edgerton (101), Worthington (96), Windom (75) and Hills-Beaver Creek (53).
Schaffer, a multi-talented senior veteran, scored eight points for the Coyotes with a second-place performance in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4-8.
