Leading most of the way, the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda B-Squad girls basketball team earned a nice 35-26 victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove at Westbrook last Tuesday evening, December 3.
A total of seven players scored in the game for the Coyotes, who extended a slim 14-10 halftime edge into the final nine-point triumph.
Junior guard Kalli Johnson (nine) and sophomore center Addison Fisher (seven) were HLOF’s scoring leaders, while sophomore forward Taryn Evers (six), along with sophomore guards Skylar Fisher (five) and Faith White (four) combined to tally 15 more points for the Coyotes. Freshman guard Anna Fest and sophomore guard Claire Reith each scored a two-point field goal, completing the well-balanced HLOL scoring attack.
The B-Squad girls became 2-1 for the season, following a season-opening 33-16 victory over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley (November 22) and a 27-38 loss to Wabasso (November 23) in a pair of games played last month at the Wabasso Tipoff Classic.
