There is a quote by Mark Twain that reads, “if you love what you do you’ll never work another day in your life.” That’s certainly true for Brewster resident and photographer, Stacey Christoffers, owner/photographer of MariePix Photography.
What began as a hobby taking pictures of her kids and animals, quickly became a dream, and then a reality. Established in 2013, MariePix Photography began operating out of Stacey’s home.
“It just kinda happened. I’ve always been drawn to it. I began taking pictures and acquiring more equipment, and it just kinda snowballed.”
After a couple years, Stacey decided to rent a studio space in downtown Worthington. Then in 2017, the decision was made, and MariePix Photography found it’s new home. After purchasing a Main Street building in Brewster, the growing photography business was back to its roots, and small town setting. Since being back in Brewster, business has seemed to have picked up.
“In Worthington, it was always the same people and not any new clients. I’m getting new clients JUST because of being in Brewster.”
When you first enter MariePix Photography, you’re welcomed with a homey and comfortable setting. Down the hallway, there is a dressing room, an office space, and finally the photography area. There’s a corner dedicated specifically to newborn and infants, while the rest is lined with multiple options of different backdrops and flooring.
