Snow King and Queen crowned at Maple Lawn

As a kick-off for the Snow Week celebration at Maple Lawn Senior Care, a Snow King and Queen crowning was held on Monday morning. With all resident names included, and divided into king candidates and queen candidates, the drawing of names was held at 9:30 a.m.

Crowned Snow King was Tom Vander Kooi. Crowned as Snow Queen was Rachel Heyen. Maple Lawn Senior Care Center royalty will reign over the week’s upcoming events.

On Friday, judging of the coloring contest will be held. Every year, Fulda Elementary School preschool through fourth grade students participate in a Maple Lawn Senior Care Center coloring contest. The sheets are judged by the residents and ribbons are given to the first, second and third place winners. Every student who participates earns a prize.

Saturday’s activities will include a Christmas Movie, a visit from the Fulda Big Band Brass (4:15 p.m) who will be playing Christmas Carols, and at 6 p.m. the  6th Annual Parade of Lights! The parade of lighted floats is scheduled to wrap around Maple Lawn Senior Care Center before starting down St. Paul Avenue.
