Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership rehabilitation program extended & expanded

Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, November 21. Auditor/treasurer Heidi Winter presented the warrants and ditch bills. All submitted were approved for payment after thorough review by the board.  Howard Konkol, ditch inspector, presented six petitions for  ditch repair. Judicial #14 Leeds Township, Section 28 Tile blowout, County Ditch #76A Mason Township Section 21 Tile blowout,  CD #21 Ellsborough Twp. Sec. 19 Beaver dam, CD  #65 Holly Twp. Sec. 20 Beaver dams and JD #10 Lime Lake Twp. Sec. 17 Tile blowout.

Evie Larson, recorder, spoke of her recent attendance at a very informative workshop on Torrens property. A complete history of a property is maintained by the recorder. She indicated a lot of the property in the lakes area is Torrens and also some farm property. Her office has two or three each month for recording. At present there are 157 active in Murray County.

The annual feedlot delegation work plan was approved as presented by Jon Bloemendaal.

The work plan will  use feedlot grant funds along with the required local match dollars and in-kind contributions to carry out the goals, plans and minimum program requirements. Murray County has approximately 425 feedlots and seven percent are inspected each year. The work plan is for 2018-2019, however, is reviewed and revised each year.
