Spring is here; time to do those projects

With so many required to stay close to home this spring, remodeling and gardening projects are underway.

As a joint effort with our family of newspapers, we have prepared a special spring garden and home improvement section, which is included in this week’s issue.

The Fulda Free Press, Tri County News, Nobles County Review, and Murray County News and reporters have written a variety of articles which are part of the section.

Following is a look at some of the articles featured.

• Gerald and Sandra Pearson of rural Dundee are building everything they ever wanted into their near home. They are building in the Fulda Wood Duck Addition.

• Slayton residents Brian and Bonnie Christensen decided to remodel their home after 25 years. They removed a wall, creating an open living space, amongst other projects.

• Take a look at the history of the Brewster Lumber Company, which has been purchased by Lukas DeWall, formerly of Okabena. Now the Brewster Lumber Yard, DeWall invites area residents to stop by for a free estimate on their project.

•. Using specific landscaping ideas can help to lower energy costs, both in the summer and in the winter.

• Kaley (Spartz) and Nathan Wurpts purchased an acreage near Currie a few years ago. After a couple years of remodeling the home, they now have their family home.

Remodeling is a great option, and their are several ways to update and upgrade your home.

• Country Road Greenhouse, owned by Greg and Darla Jurgens of rural Windom, offers a variety of plants for your next landscaping project and for your gardening needs.

Take time to read and enjoy the special section this week, and thank the advertisers and those featured in the articles for their assistance. For our electronic subscribers, the special section will be included with the May 4 issue of the Murray County ADvantage.
