The Fulda City Council held a special meeting January 15 to discuss several items that needed attention.
The main item was the fee schedule for 2020 for services like water rates, building rents or liquor license. It was the building permits that filled the conversation and the discussion was long with the end result the increase for permits for new construction of residential or commercial buildings increased from $50 to $150, projects 16’ x 20’ or larger like garages or additions $25 increased to $65. Projects smaller than 16’ x 20’ like sheds and additions doubled to $20. Fence permits are up from $5 to $20 and conditional use permits up from $50 to $250. Building permits need to be in one week before the council meeting. Funeral escorts will increase from $25 to $100. Other fees were not increased. Down payment for utility of metered or unmetered were eliminated.
