Your local food shelf is winding down the summer. Kids going back to school and hopefully cooler weather will begin. Our food need will change as much as the weather. Soon it will be time for stews and soups, and the like.
We have a decently stocked shelf right now but we all know that might not last long. Fulda and surrounding area has been so great to us with all their contributions. When you think of us in the coming months, please remember what food you fix your family, our clients want to fix for their families too. We are especially short of instant potatoes, mac and cheese, canned stews-both chicken and beef. Right now we have a over abundance of beans…all kinds. So all can make huge batches of chili.
A special note: The Second Harvest Heartland food truck will be at our food shelf on Thursday, August 25 around 9:30 am. Anyone that would like to help unload and unpack are welcome to come to St. Gabriel’s Catholic School, north side about 9:15 am. Help is always needed.
A special thanks to all who have given us fresh produce. We can’t handle much at a time but do appreciate a small amount. Again thanks for your support and don’t forget the SHH truck on Thursday.
