With Christmas fast approaching, the Food Shelf is going thru plenty items. We are fairly well stocked as of this writing but can disappear fast. We also had a busy month in November, serving 21 families for a total of 94 people.
We have many people and organizations to thank for their generosity.
Country Pride Cooperative sends us a check yearly, the Fulda Community Club also donated money as well as Darrel and Donna Bruns. We received money from the Thanksgiving offering from area churches and well as individual donations such as Duane and Shari Gehl.
I imagine I am forgetting someone but always try to remember our donors.
We also received 100 pounds of products from Prairie Star Parishes consisting of Immanuel Lutheran of Fulda, First Lutheran of Dundee and Evangelical Lutheran of Heron Lake. Pastor Steven Cook dropped these items off at the FS a short time ago. Thanks to all. Apples from Ron and Cheryl Janssen, squash and misc. produce from Donna Sauer. Nina Schaeffer brought in 70 pounds worth of products and Laura Williams, from the Farmers Daughter donated pumpkins, big and little and Emily Grierse gave 25 pounds. The Presbyterian Church donated several quilts to help keep people warm.
For all these items, We at the food shelf, volunteers as well as clients, are truly thankful.
It is a wonderful blessing to be able to help people in need any time of the year but seems especially great during the holiday season.
A reminder we are open the First Monday of every month (except a holiday) from 10-11 am.
Again the Third Monday from 2-3 pm and the fourth month from 6-7 pm. Hopefully those hours can accommodate people that are in need.
Have a wonderful holiday season and thanks again from your local Fulda Food Shelf.
