“The film is not an answer, but a series of questions,” explained Pioneer Public Television’s General Manager, Les Heen as he introduced a preview of “The Vietnam War,” a documentary beginning on PBS and Pioneer Public TV.
Beginning on Sunday evening, September 17, the new documentary continues this week and next week. “The Vietnam War” is a ten-part series directed by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick.
“The Vietnam War” shares the history and feelings behind the war, which lasted from 1955 through 1975. Among the scenes are news clips, television footage, recordings and still pictures from that time frame. Also included are current interviews with veterans who had served during the war, people who opposed it in America, Vietnamese combatants and civilians from many different perspectives.
