A pair of Red Rock Conference volleyball victories by the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda varsity has given the Coyotes a tie for second place in the final standings of the 10-team league.
Highlighted by the 1,000th varsity career kill by junior middle hitter Hailey Liepold in Monday night’s sweep, at Okabena, of the Ellsworth Panthers, the Coyotes finished conference action with a 7-2 record and finished the regular season with an overall mark of 15-13.
Adrian won the conference title with a perfect 9-0 league record, while HLOF and Red Rock Central tied for second each at 7-2.
Liepold, a three-year varsity starter, smacked down her 1,000th kill during the second set of HLOF’s dominating win over the Panthers. Game scores were 25-13, 25-15 and 25-7.
